Girlhood was difficult.....

So, I finally completed my layout in "Girlhood"....it was the most difficult journal to work in. It is a wonderful little journal but the theme was difficult for me as I didn't have the most wonderful childhood. In fact, I often try to forget it! Because of this....I struggled to come up with a theme for my layout. I ran through a whole list of things to journal about and just couldn't make it happen! At first, I was going to go "girly" but I so wasn't into girl stuffs when I was a kid....I was most often found outside, as far away from my house that I could get....I loved to hang out at the trains, down by the river, in old oak trees....anywhere but home. I wasn't big into dolls, in fact I thought them creepy and still do, I loved hanging out at the river gathering tadpoles in my hands, chasing down frogs, hanging with the Praying Mantis' and Roly Polys! So, after a huge struggle, I came up with the one icon I loved as a kid....Pippi Longstocking! I loved that she was in a dreamworld, all her own....I was too! I didn't intend on this layout being "dark" but it seems to be the look of my art and my childhood story isn't one that brings sunshine into my life.....

So, I just finished three layouts in "Paper Dresses"....an adorable book that allowed me to be Girly! And yet, I still managed to grunge it up a little! :0) So, can you tell where I was going with my themes? I think I am the only one who understands....I showed it to others and they just see the layouts....I'll let you decide if you can tell what I was doing, where I was going with my themes! Take a look:

So, I had to create some invitations for work....someone is going to choose one to use for a Holiday Party invitation. Which one will they choose? I'm guessing the Snowman tag or the Bears in the window...what do you think?

My Community....

Finished three more layouts but only have 2 to show you....I already shipped the journal to Australia....and one of the photos didn't scan correctly! So.....here's two:

Okay, so the second one....is supposed to be a street sign! Get it? It's simple but speaks volumes to me! The first layout: photos of street signs in my community! My Town! The third one that you don't see is of the Big Man in Red, himself....Making a List and Checking it Twice! 

Another Celebration

Celebrated my boss' birthday today....theme was Gardening. Here is the card and box I created to help with the celebration:

They turned out great and the party was a blast! Gorgeous flowers, pretty table decor and absolutely delicious food! Happy Birthday Sallie!

Happy Birthday Heather

So, for my good friend Heather, I created a card that I think is exactly her! Heather looks so beautiful, she loves to change her looks....my card is a reflection of the changes. Which hairstyle should she wear, should she dress glamorous? She can be anything she wants to be and does! Happy Birthday Heather....

While Waiting for Journals....I joined.....

a Worldwide Post Card swap! I finished my cards tonight and am especially thrilled with them! They are so me, in fact, that I made one for my desk at work! I spent last Sunday spray painting the backgrounds while rocking out to Nickelback! I spent tonight painting the Ravens and moon while rocking out to....you guessed it, Nickelback! Okay, so I love them! Anyhow, here is a pic of my latest art project:

I made 16 different cards, but they are all the same! The backgrounds are different ..... as I used various paint colors, stencils and texture paints. I hope you like!
